A curiously noted economic stat says imports first time exceed a billion dollars while exports reach about 1.4 billion.
An old advertisement touts Kodol Dyspepsia Cure as the remedy for indigestion stomach problems and nervous issues claiming the stomach must be nourished to maintain health. It notes symptoms like loss of appetite sour breath and constipation and lists E. T. Whitehead & Co as sellers. It also claims maximum brain weight ages for males and females.
A settler in 188% faced severe diarrhea from bad water and heat, nearly dying in June. After a neighbor gave Chamberlain's Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy, a big dose eased the agony and within an hour he slept soundly. The medicine quickly cured him, prompting gratitude and a note to buy more.
