A Victorian style ad extols Dr King’s New Discovery as a cure for coughs sore throat and bronchitis and claims it wards off pneumonia. It cites a testimonial from William Miere Cearless Maryland and promises trial bottles free at E T Whitehead Co drugstore with prices 50c and 1.00.
An advertisement touts Elliott's Emplsified Oil Liniment with a money back guarantee. It claims benefits for rheumatism sprains and swellings suitable for family use and livestock, offering a full 1 2 pint bottle for 25 cents.
Henry J. Cheney signs an oath as senior partner of F J Cheney & Co promising one hundred dollars for each uncured catarrh case. Notary A W Gleason witnesses the document dated December Gib 1886. The firm advertises Hall’s Catarrh Cure taken internally and claims to affect blood and mucous surfaces. Sold by druggists in Toledo Ohio. Also promotes Hall’s Family Pills for constipation.
An appeal warns a tired woman that the product Hollister's Rocky Mountain Tea will restore vigor, claiming it strengthens nerves and builds blood. The ad lists agents El Whitehead & Co in Scotland Neck and Jolun Brown in Halifax.
