Washington Feb 22 The Navy Department says a published report of an explosion on the battleship Utah is false. Lieut Commander Baush was fatally injured by a fall in a coal hatch. no explosion occurred and no one else was hurt.
Washington reports plans and contracts completed for two smoke powder plants each costing about 50 million dollars. Each plant aims for 1,500,000 pounds daily capacity and 10,000 to 15,000 workers. Initial output expected by August. Much of the product to be available to allied nations.
