Alvin Moe aged 42 died September 19 1969 at St Josephs Hospital Concordia after a short illness. He was son of Mrs Stanley Moe and survived by his mother stepfather wife Roberta three daughters Renee Reta and Rachelle and one son Douglas. He graduated Scandia High School 1944 served in the U S Armed Forces and was a superintendent of a construction company at the time of death. Rosary was held Sunday at Chaput Funeral Home Concordia with funeral Monday at Concordia Catholic Church and burial in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

John Strand Receives Veterans Service Citation
John L. Strand of Topeka received a framed citation from the Disabled American Veterans for work with the Veterans Administration Voluntary Service. The award, dated June 30 1969 in Cincinnati Ohio, follows another Kansas honor. only one other award went to Joseph E. Romers, state chairman. Strand’s citation is on display in the Journal window.
