The Sunasy School meets every Sunday morning at 10:00 with Divine Worship at 19 a.m. and Communion Services plus 7 HMr on the Sunday of each month. The Ladies Aid meets the first Thursday afternoon each month at the church parlors. Members are urged to attend Sunday School Services and the Ladies Aid.
The Amana Lutheran Church under Pastor WN H Pearson invites children and teachers to Vacation Church School next Monday at 9:00 am with sessions from 9:00 to 11:45. Sundy School and Bible Classes are scheduled at 9:00 am. Vernon Swanson is superintendent.
The Methodist Church announces Rev R B Wilke leading services this Pentecost Sunday with 10:00 Sunday School and 11:06 morning worship. WSCS officers will be installed. Vacation Bible School runs from May 21 starting 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. for ages 3 through 8th grade.

Sheriff candidate J T Skelton announces Republican bid for Sheriff subject to August Primary. County Attorney candidate Percy H Collins Jr seeks Democratic nomination for Republic County in August Primary.
A barrage of primary announcements from Republic County candidates includes A A Pat Kelly for sheriff in the Republican column, Swen E Carlson for county treasurer, Zula M Lake for register of deeds on the Democratic ticket, Marie Mckenzie for county clerk, Elmer H Isaacson for probate judge seeking re election, Henry H Van Natta for sheriff, Roy E Sandels Sr for county superintendent, and WMH Matthias among others. The notices urge voter will in the August primary.
Anthony A. Shaman seeks the Republican nomination for County Commissioner in Kansas Republic County Second District under the Wallace W. Aspedren banner, subject to voter will.
Mrs Algor Anderson spent Thursday afternoon with Mrs ElReno Sederlin. Mr and Mrs Arnt Carlson were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Bill McClure and family of Republic. Miss Florence Clark was a Wednesday evening supper guest at the Robison home.
In Re Public County Kansas probate court the estate of John Carlson deceased receives Letters of Administration to Wesler Boyles dated May 4 1956. Creditors and other parties must file all claims within nine months from May 10 1956 or be barred. Also reports weekend visits of local residents to relatives and friends mentioning several households and names.
Mr and Mrs Jerry Strand were Sunday evening guests at the Dale Lewellyn residence, sharing a social visit.

Joseph Ernest Cline 63 born near Sherdahl on October 5 1902 died May 11 1965 at home south of Republic He was a farmer and community resident survived by wife Mabel Lillian Strom two children Jolene and Charles three brothers and three sisters Funeral services were held May 13 at the Evangelical United Brethren church Republic with Republic Lodge A F and A M graveside rites at Prairie Rose cemetery conducted by Tibbetts Bros.
Al S Mahan born August 11 1864 near Harding Ohio passed away May 11 1956 at his home 110 West Ellsworth Salina at 91 years 9 months. He moved from Iowa to Scandia in 1870 and later to Salina in 1918. He married Sarah Elizabeth Morris on February 17 1889 celebrating 67th anniversary last February. A Sunday School teacher 62 years he also worked as a grocer in Scandia and ran a Salina shoe repair shop for 30 years. Survived by wife one sister Mrs N S Cooper and many relatives. Funeral held at Scandia Methodist church.
Chris E Nelson thanks friends and neighbors for cards flowers and gifts received during hospital stay while confined with eyes bandaged and a no visitors sign on the door. The Joe Cline Family expresses gratitude for kindness, cards, floral offerings and food after a loved one's death.
Sunday dinner guests included Edward Robison of Wichita Herman Robison Martha Robison Alma Everett Robison and Bob Robison Alma Floressie von Sheu in Minneapolis with her mother Ray Allen Cecil Allen Wilbur Zener Lena Lloyd Franklin Bertha Grane stedt Florence Cark Edna Richardson Adah Josie Edn Robison. The Robisons drove to Pawnee Monument Friday evening for a wedding.
