The Merchants association of Kansas City Kansas plans to hire attorneys and sue railroads to force a union railroad station on the Kansas side. A 1905 law required construction by January 1, 1907, and railroads say the issue will be addressed after Missouri’s station question is resolved.

The home of Mrs. Carter, elderly Civil War widow, burned at Skiddy when a lamp ignited the blaze. Her daughter Mrs. Willes, staying with her, and both women suffered severe burns and Mrs. Willes was bruised by a stair fall. Everything was burned, including clothing, and there was no insurance.
