Obituary William Loring 1843 1940 Scandia resident dies at 96
William Loring born November 29 1843 in Gothenburg Sweden died June 15 1940 at his home south of Scandia aged 96 years 6 months 17 days. He sailed 14 years after becoming a sailor at 20 and married Caroline Lundin in Chicago 1870. They moved to Kansas near Scandia in 1874 where he served 18 years as Scandia Township Trustee and raised 12 children. Funeral Monday at Hampton Funeral Home with Rev M C Linntrson officiating. interment Riverview cemetery. Includes surviving wife 11 children 39 grandchildren 26 great grandchildren.
