Scandia Public School Summer Music Program Announced

Scandia public school outlines a summer music program starting Monday July 14 with enrollment for private lessons from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. in the high school music room. Only the north door will be open and band rehearsals begin Tuesday June 15 at 6 30 p.m with potential Thursday rehearsals and concerts every other Saturday if attendance stays steady.

Tournament set for Scandia ball park in June action

The Republican Valley Pee Wee League announces a tournament at Scandia ball park with games on Monday June 21 Wednesday June 23 and finals Saturday June 26. Participating teams include Narka Cuba Republic Courtland Spandia Blues and the Scandia Reds.

Campaign for New Minister Reception at Met Church

Mrs Lena Lloyd hosted a Bible Study group at her home on Wednesday afternoon June 2. Rita Ann Muret, daughter of Mr and Mrs Raymond Muret, is the valedictorian of Winfield High School class of 210 the largest in the school's history. She will attend Kansas State University on a Putnam scholarship.

Social Security Visits Belleville June 15 1965

A representative from the Social Security Administration will visit Belleville on Tuesday June 15 1965. People seeking information should call the Courthouse Welfare Office between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Farmers are reminded to keep records for workers meeting the $150 cash wage test for social security coverage and include name social security number and wages.

Social Hour Club Met in Republic With Flowers Given

The Social Hour Club met June 1 with eight members and one guest, Hmma Klaumann. Members answered roll with flower themed responses and received flowers from the host. Mrs. Berggren won a napkin prize. A book titled Dear Debbie will be placed in Rae Hobgon Memorial Library in Jolene Cline’s memory. The club will meet June 15 with Mrs. Rex Sandell.

Lofgrens Honored at Ada Lutheran Service and Social
