Copper Bells Donated by Industry for Capitol Tour
The 52 bells on tour are funded by a treasury bond drive with costs not disclosed. Ford Motors will transport the bells from Brooklyn Navy Yard to state capitals and Washington. Each 2080 pound bell is an exact duplicate of the Liberty Bell, made of 85 percent copper using the lost wax method.
