Drowned Missionary Anna Williams in the Alaska Sea

Mrs. Anna Williams, 32, daughter of Rev. M Fulcomer of Crete Nebraska, wife of William Williams, an Alaskan mine owner, drowned near Cape Nome in the Bering Sea on June 24 1901 while on a northern voyage. Williams survived by swimming ashore after the wreck. she had spent a decade as a missionary teacher in Alaska and resided in Sitka with her husband since their marriage two years earlier.
