A District 42 school meeting approved a seven month term. E E Zavodsky of Cuba was hired as teacher at 60 dollars a month. Various local visits and events noted including farm work, illness, threshing, and social gatherings.
Mrs H Hulett went to Scandia late last week for a visit with her daughter Mrs Jesse Donoho.
Born to Mr and Mrs Horace Osborn a girl on July 13. Mr and Mrs David Anderson and daughter drove to Scandia Monday afternoon. Mr and Mrs Donoho were up from Scandia over Sunday. A Chrysong was in Scandia Monday.
Farmers cut oats and thresh. residents travel to Concordia and Junction City for business and visits. News of illnesses and births, a near accident during oat stacking, and a knee injury requiring Dr Sherrard care. Visitors include Mrs Krogmoe of Colorado Springs, Miss Helen Roberts, and Dr Sherrard assisting.

Angus Hooker in charge of the No 17 mail saw the sack vanish from the waiting room. A post office inspector and postmaster Anderson later found the sack in a Rock Island right of way potato patch near A H Whitneys corner with all but one registered letter opened. No valuables missing, no sign of professional theft.
