G H Thorpe returns from Belleville Friday evening after completing his term as instructor in the normal institute. The Georgia Minstrels expected a ball game but were defeated by the Scandia club on the grounds. Roy Riggins has left for Leavenworth to help ceiling nine new barracks at Fort Leavenworth under a contract.
Henry Fulcomer trapped a swarm of Italian bees on a large cottonwood tree in the west end of town during the first part of June. He reports the swarm weighed approximately 23 percent of a pound.
