Graveling Near Scandia on Highway 26 Roadbed
The Cook and Cone Construction Co. began graveling the new roadbed on Highway 26 from the Republican River bridge west to the overflow bridge east of the section line. Washington Street from the Home Oil station corner to the road will also be graveled. Weather permitting the project aims to finish this Thursday and open the new bridge this weekend.

Two Kackley Pioneers Pass Away Last Week
Carl Robert Lundblade died at his Kackley home on Wednesday after a long illness at age 72. Funeral services were held from the home and Ada Lutheran church. Mrs. Carolina Nilson, 1 died last Saturday at her daughter’s home after the death of her son-in-law Robert Lundblade. services followed at Ada Lutheran church. Interment for both occurred at Ada Lutheran cemetery. Mrs Nilson and Mr Lundblade moved to Kackley in 187%.

Munden Youths Sentenced to Reformatory

Court verdict awards 1250 to Cuba farmer in fire suit
A jury in Belleville district court found for Frank Barton a Cuba farmer in a 1250 recovery suit against Chicago Rock Island and Pacific. The case arose from a barn fire on Barton's Richland township farm near the railroad right of way east of Belleville. Attorneys Dumars of Topeka and Martin V.
