Miss Lula Lewellyn wed Orville K Martin in a Belleville Probate Court ceremony. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lewellyn of 4th Place, has lived here all her life. Mr. Martin, a local tradesman, arrived with his parents from Los Angeles for a winter visit. The couple hosted a small reception at the Lewellyn home with friends and family in attendance. Ten to Fifty Years for Grand Larceny and Burglary
Clyde Coy pled guilty in a strict court to grand larceny and burglary charges. He was sentenced to 10 to 50 years in the penitentiary. Sheriff Eastman received letters from Oklahoma showing Coy’s past embezzlement conviction in 1917 and a later parole. He deserted his wife and child while living in Newkirk, with the family reportedly destitute.
