Scandia Community Club to Meet Friday Evening

The Scandia Community club will meet Friday night at 7 30 p.m. in the city office building to vote on officers and discuss important matters.

Scandia Chapter No 481 OES held a regular meeting with Mrs Hilt Waite worthy patron and Carl G Hammer presiding. Two candidates received initiatory degrees. Joyce Johnson sang Star of the East. The worthy matron reviewed her year and thanked officers. gifts were presented to each officer. Refreshments followed. next meeting set for January 1 at 7 30 p.m. Athol Scott and committee in charge.

Mrs Alta Trimmer has recovered some from a week of illness and is reported better at this writing. She is the mother of Mrs George Stromberg and is staying with Mr and Mrs Stromberg for the winter. Death of Gust Wennersten at 82 in Concordia

Gust Wennersten died Saturday morning at the Hanson Rest Home in Concordia at 82. Funeral services were Monday at 10 a.m. from the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Home with Rev. H. Severin Bly presiding and burial followed at Riverview Cemetery. Escorted by relatives, neighbors and friends, multiple local families hosted visits and gatherings in the days surrounding his passing.

Sunshine Circle Met Auction Silent Christmas Meeting

The Sunshine Circle met December 18 at the Methodist church parlors with hostesses Mrs. Ellen Johnson and Mrs. Otto Nelson. Mrs. R. E.
