Golden State Limited to be launched by Rock Island and Southern Pacific
The Rock Island lines announce on December 28 a deluxe Golden State Limited from Chicago to Los Angeles and San Diego with through sleepers from Minneapolis St Paul and St Louis. A second Golden State Express will also start, serving California with a three cylinder No 999 locomotive on display at LaSalle Station. The California service includes a maid barber and tailor aboard each train plus baths telephones and a reading library.
