Red Cross Roll Readiness Incomplete In Scandia Drive
The Scandia unit of the American Red Cross reports an incomplete annual roll call with 75 members and $75.40 raised so far. Chairwoman Mrs. Guy Frazier leads a nine person committee soliciting for the 1939 campaign. Donors include Gust Isaacson and several residents and businesses. Further results will be announced later.

Merchants Sponsor Midweek Show At Princess Theatre

Scandia Dam Project Seeks Congressional Approval
The Conservation Multi-Purpose Reservoir near Scandia aims to flood control and irrigate the Smoky Hill area. Backers in Kansas pledge support, Army Engineers back the plan, with a dam 84 to 115 feet high costing up to 20 million dollars. A speaker will visit Scandia to rally unity and push for completion within two to three years. The project could boost Scandia’s growth and farm output while protecting against past floods.
