The Kansas Senate and House concur to submit to voters a constitutional amendment raising legislature pay to 500 dollars per biennial term plus 100 dollars per special session and 15 cents per mile for travel. The measure to be on the 1930 general election ballot and take effect after publication.

Kansas Senate Concurrent Resolution proposes income tax amendment

Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 8 of Kansas proposes adding a new section to article 11 authorizing state power to levy taxes on income from all sources with graduated rates. Poisoned Girl Recovers After Jimson Weed Incident

Helen Bartak five year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Stanley Bartak of Cuba was poisoned after eating Jimson weed. She was treated at Patterson Memorial hospital by Dr D B Wallace and released after 24 hours. The weed is of Asiatic origin and highly poisonous.

Oakley Kansas safesr man Happy Wiggins piloting a plane near Logan county 4500 feet up halted a rattlesnake that rose at his feet. He steered clear and dropped the snake before danger could strike in a scene noted by Ellis County News.

Train wreck kills three near Agenda Kansas

A Rock Island freight train wrecked east of the Agenda depot on Sunday afternoon killing three men and injuring two. The deceased were Kingsley of Chicago Myron Lee of Osawatomie Kansas and George Palenkas of Mansfield Ohio. Injured Grady Woods of Kansas City Missouri suffered a brain concussion and cuts and bruises.

County Treasurer Candidate Killed In Ozarks Camping Accident

Frank Hanel Democratic candidate for county treasurer died in a camping trip accident near Munden when his car collided with a truck and plunged into a ditch. He was a prosperous local farmer with many friends who extend condolences to his family.
