W. C. Preble drove out A. R. Morey’s Overland Sedan to Kansas City last Friday. He was joined by G. P. Plotner and the trip halted at Frankfort due to muddy roads, with plans to continue later.
An old Riverside Club dance each Saturday night is noted along with Sunday visit by Ernest Seymore of Albright, Nebraska to Scandia. The Presbyterian Church Ladies Aid plans a Magis sale next Wednesday 3 to 7 pm. Etta King returns home after visiting her parents in Cozad Nebraska. Chas Magnussen traveled to Phillipsburg on business and discussed a corn shelter project for the neighborhood west side with another party at Courtland. A lost brown curly water spaniel is sought with a reward for its return by Reece.
Local notes report Emma Swanson visiting Chicago relatives and Mrs N P Nelson visiting her sister in Kessington. Other items mention Will Rogers in Jubile and the film Broadway Saint at the Princess Theatre, plus school events, dinners, church activities, and a box supper at Ambrose School.

Dorcas society gathers in church parlors Friday afternoon at 2 with Mrs Oscar Floodberg in charge of serving refreshments following the meeting.
United Brethren Church schedules Sabbath School at 14 a.m. Christian Endeavor at p.m. Evening worship at 8 p.m. Sermon titled The Pre Eminence of Christ outlines a focus on Christ.
Sunday school at 1 a m and preaching at 1 a m announced for Providence Chapel. Dr Tewplin to attend first quarterly conference in Scandia May 13 and 14. P H Smith, pastor hopes to meet all members of the church.

The American Legion plans a 10 foot porch surrounding cement block construction estimated at 850 dollars. They have rented the Kallman rooms over the Pool Hall and will fix them up for the club. Soldiers sailors and marines are invited to attend meetings with new members being taken in at every meeting. Next meeting will be in the new rooms Wednesday evening on May 5.
