Dick Clark Killed After Electric Wire Accident
The town learned Tuesday night that Dick Clark second son of Mr and Mrs William Clark was killed when he ran into an electric light wire north of town. His brother Jean received a shock while attempting to rescue him. The community mourns as schools dismissed and funeral services were held Thursday at the Hampton Funeral Home and Methodist Church.

New Auditorium Dedicated With Four Evening Programs
Last week the town inaugurated a new auditorium with four events. Sunday featured union church services led by all town ministers, including Rev. Englund. Monday offered an all musical program with band numbers and vocal and clarinet performances under new instructors Mr. Tice and Miss Dietrich. Tuesday saw the first P T A meeting of the year with Mrs. Greenslade presiding and the Mothers' Singers Club performing. Wednesday closed with the formal dedication and a lecture by Dr. R E Mohler on Education the Hope of Democracy.

After an unsuccessful start to school, students returned on September 9 with enthusiasm to finish the term. Classes were interrupted by orders of the County Health Officer due to infantile paralysis spreading statewide.
