Annual School Closing Picnic Set for May 26
At 12 00 oclock Wednesday May 26 the annual community dinner will be held in the school auditorium. Sponsored by the Parent Teachers Association it invites all to attend and bring food. After dinner athletic contests will be run off in the ballpark prepared by a committee of Porter Hardtaker and Carl Hammer.

Hi Y Club Installs New Officers In May Meeting
Hi Y members gathered Thursday May 2 for the installation of new officers. LeRoy Nelson was named president with George Thompson as vice president, Richard Foelberg secretary, Eldon Larson treasurer, and Ralph Hawkins program chairman. Three Scandia Teachers Leaving for Next Year
Three Scandia School faculty members will not return next year Miss Edna Neher Miss Marguerite Swanson and Miss Laverne Larsen. Neher will study home economics at Kansas State College in Manhattan to teach vocational home economics. Swanson plans marriage to Truman Zimmerman of Mullinville Kansas. Larsen will marry Irvin Currie and reside in Scandia. No replacements have been chosen yet.

Eighth grade commencement set for May 24
Nineteen pupils will receive diplomas at the eighth grade commencement on May 24. Under Mr. Larry Porter, the program includes processional, invocation, salutatory, class history, Alma Mater, class song, readings, music numbers, and the presentation of diplomas by F. L. Miller. The class motto is Labor Not Loiter, with red rose as the flower and rose and silver as colors. Officers are Junior Isaacson president, Ted Cady vice president, Frances Tedrow secretary, Geneva Flesher treasurer.

Seventy two subscriptions for The Norseman have been sold. The annual issue is being set up and printed at the Journal office. It will be printed and ready for delivery by Monday, May 24.
Linerson To Give Address At Baccalaureate
Rev. M. C. Linnerson chosen to deliver the sermon at the high school Baccalaureate Sunday May 23. Seniors will march in to music from a processional and sing Come Thou Almighty King. The program starts at eight. Miss Neher home economics teacher gives the scripture. Sophomores decorate with orchid and yellow.
