Belleville High School auditorium hosts the annual music festival on March 27 at 7 p.m. Ten schools participate including Agenda Republic Scandia Belleville Cuba Munden Courtland Narka Kakley and Norway. County Declamation and Extemporaneous Contest Set at Munden
For the first time in years a county declamation and extemporaneous contest will award medals to the top three in each category. It will be held in Munden on April 3 with Scandia sending one representative per event. Billy Reece will compete in extemporaneous work. Supt. F L Miller oversees the event. Miss Hays coaches six girls for the declamation preliminaries, with readings by J Adams, M Yin Fe, Mildred Johnson, Virginia Lee Marshall, Eldred Freed, Matilda McDowell, Ardith Curtis. Most readings are planned for March 25 assembly. Each reading is limited to fifteen minutes and judged on memory, poise, and interpretation.

De Willo Concert Gave Third Lyceum Number at High School
The De Willo Concert Company presented the third lyceum number at the high school auditorium on Monday evening March 9. A Concertina Grande unique in the world was featured by Mr. De Willo with Santa Lucia and Turkey in the Straw variations. The violinist performed the Rosary and other pieces and accompanied the sopranist on the piano. The soloist sang Sunrise and You Chernubim and Toujours Amour Toujours. Closing numbers included What’s the Reason I’m Not Pleasing You Prairie Moon and When I Grow Too Old to Dream.

Concert Excites 1500 At Concordia High Matinee
Forty eight Scandia high school students, teachers, and drivers attended the Kansас City Philharmonic Orchestra matinee at Concordia High School March 11. Krueger's orchestra performed Mendelssohn Nicolai Grieg and Bizet, ranging from Elgars Pomp and Circumstance to Tschaikowsky Nutcracker Suite. The performance drew heavy applause and emotional reaction from a large regional audience.

PTA To Hear Safety Program With Legion Talks
The P. T. A. meeting will be held next Tuesday evening in the school auditorium. American Legion of Kansas members will present talks and show a moving picture on the Highway Safety Program.
