Florida Herds Free From Tuberculosis Boost Jersey Campaign
A U S Department of Agriculture list as of April 1 shows 77 Florida herds tested free of tuberculosis, the most of any Gulf state and ahead of several in the Midwest and South. Dr. J. G. Fish in Tallahassee leads the effort with the State Livestock Sanitary Board, noting 73 Jersey, 2 Holstein Friesian, 1 Ayrshire, and 1 Shorthorn herds. The American Jersey Cattle Club plans a campaign to improve sires and dairy herd quality in Florida.

SOW OATS FARLY IN THE FALL

Young Bartow man killed by cycle near Fort Meade
Arthur Odom, a Bartow resident, died in a motorcycle accident four miles north of Fort Meade on the Bartow Fort Meade road. He was returning to Bartow from Fort Meade when the bike threw him. Funeral services were held today and he was buried near Fort Meade.
