County voters approve bridge and road program
Average majority five to a greater number of voters approve of each project in the county $1,010,000 bridge and road program. Mr Bryan led in Florida for presidential elector. Vote heavier than expected. many entitled voters did not cast ballots. Sugar Bowl Road supports strong but counting is slowed by long ticket and separate votes.

The council approved contracts totaling 123 468 25 for street widening and paving, sewer laying, and repairs to the chemical engine and hose wagon. J H Crawford won the paving bid around 107 807 50, George Skene secured the sewer bid 13 431 23, and I Grimli to repair the chemical engine. The council also renamed Byron Court to Calverly Place by request of C M Calverly.

Charles Conrad of Wayne Pennsylvania announces a new subdivison at Indian Beach two and a half miles from the city. Plans call for 52 and 53 plots with 327 feet on Indian Beach road 479 feet to the bay and 400 feet of beach frontage investment about 135000. Homes on the front will cost about 17500 each with Spanish design and palm lined centers. Apartments and a dock for yachts are planned with work to begin as plans are completed and a local firm retained for construction.

Prominent Tampa Physician Lands Big Silver King
Dr G L Spengler of Tampa fished in Sarasota with Dr D J Johnston and landed a 75 pound tarpon measuring 5 ft 4 in after a spirited nearly hour long fight in darkness. The catch was photographed and turned over for mounting, marking Spengler as a first time tarpon angler in challenging conditions.
