One Carload Every Day From Manatee Celery Farm
O W Chapman manager of Manatee Vegetable Farms reports thirty acres of celery in fine condition. A force of thirty five white workers handles shipping, with a carload a day on average. Ten carloads have shipped and will continue until mid April when the crop is marketed. This year only celery will be planted, no other crops. The land lies about four miles north of town on the Bradenton road, one quarter mile from the station.
