Airboat Makes Historic Florida Run to Palmetto
E M Arbogast bought the first airboat trip from St. Petersburg to Palmetto for 85 dollars to attend a lot sale and return. The trip marks the longest single flight since the line began with Jannus expected to reach Palmetto in about 80 minutes. The voyage totals at least 125 miles with two Tampa trips and Manatee River flights. Arbogast, from Marlington Virginia, is a former real estate broker who built the Bay Island Hotel near Sarasota two years ago and now plans to stay in St. Petersburg until early May.

Mrs. Sarah O Webber Dies at Bradenton
Sarasota mourns as Mrs. Sarah O Webber dies at her Bradenton home at 7 p m on February 16 1914 in her 82nd year. She fell ill then and never regained consciousness, with daughter Mrs J H Lord and family by her side. Funeral services were held at home and burial occurred beside her husband in Manatee cemetery. Born in 1832 at St Albans Missouri she moved to Orlando in 1884 then Bradenton in 1901 where she owned property and was active in church and social circles. She leaves daughter Mrs J H Lord and two grandchildren Louise Lord and Jan Lord.
