At Sarasota Lodge No.126 K of P regular meeting officers were elected including Kennedy as I G and Noble as M of W. Installation set for January 2.
Sarasota Lodge No 147 F and A M held the December 3 election naming W M Dr F W Schultz Ss W J F Burker J W J E Battre Secretary Frank Redd Treasurer J A Clark. other officers to be appointed by the presiding officer. A joint installation with the Eastern Star is planned with Dr Schultz expected to attend.
H. P. Turner and Claude Turner listed among appointive officers with King Frank Walpole, Scribe J. E. Battle, Secretary Iron Ross, and Treasurer C. E. Hitchings. Other officers to be announced later.
Trinity Commandery No 16 E C lists Hitchings as Generalisimo Walpole as Captain General Burker as Captain General and Burker as Recorder Tuttle as Recorder Tuttle is named as Recorder with other officers to be appointed and listed.
Thursday evening Mr. Bert Hayslip received initiatory degrees of the Order as the annual meeting elected officers for the coming year. Worthy Matron Mrs. C. V. S. Wilson and Worthy Patron Dr. W. F. Schultz head the lineup, with several officers named and others to be appointed by the presiding officer.
Installation set for Monday evening December 30. At meeting’s close, sandwiches and coffee were served. Orders of 1.C.C. F., Rebekahs, W. O. W. and Woodman Circle have not completed officer elections. full lodge slate to be released after installation.
G. W. Blackburn was crowned champion with a 321 pound haul on Saturday. Heavy winds kept boats ashore this week, but once the weather clears many fishermen are set to resume the king fishing voyage in search of the game Kings.

Tallahassee reports the general automobile tax law was amended to take effect January 1 1919. The new schedule sets rates by vehicle type and horsepower, including motorcycles 2, autos up to 22 hp five dollars, 22 to 27 hp eight dollars, 27 to 35 hp twelve dollars, over 35 hp fifteen dollars, ten seaters one hundred dollars, various truck categories from ten to one hundred dollars, plus dealer and chauffeur fees and undertaker vehicles. The controller will issue the 1919 tags.
Dr. H. W. Whitmer, Veterinary Inspector for the Florida State Livestock Sanitary Board, located in Bradenton, visited Sarasota Monday. He had been in Fruitville administering cholera treatment to infected hogs and will provide services by contacting him in Bradenton. The cost is limited to the serum used.
