Senator Wilson Arrives in Tallahassee to Push Sarasota County Bill

Former Senator A. M. Wilson from Manatee county travels to the capital to advocate creating Sarasota county from part of Manatee. He aims to win legislative support with a referendum for voters in the proposed county and to keep Manatee’s growth advancing alongside the new unit. W. Y. Perry will join Wilson in Tallahassee to press for favorable action.

Died Monday Elof Peterson dies at State Hospital Chattahoochee

Elof Peterson aged fifty six died Monday April 11 1921 at the State Hospital Chattahoochee Florida after long illness. Born in Sweden he moved to Minnesota then took a homestead on Sarasota Bay later selling land to Geo W Mathehy. He married Jennie Carter February 18 1914 in Tampa and leaves two sons Elof Jr and Ragmar 6 and 4. Burial was Wednesday at Rosemary Cemetery Sarasota with Baptist service.

Surprise Party Honors William Davis Jr at Seventh Street Home

A large crowd gathered April 7 at Mrs. Wm. Davis home on Seventh street for a surprise party honoring her son William Jr. Fourteen couples attended including Thelma Hull Virginia Smith Mary Welch Dorothy Jones Bessie Leeser Mildred Redd Josephine Bridenbecker and others. The highlight was a candy box for the most attractive girl awarded to Miss Bessie Leeser. The pink and white color scheme decorated the space with punch ice cream and cake served before a late departure.
