In New York an elderly patient gave nurse Steph anie Buetens 100 sheets of United Nations stamps issued December 10, 1934, each with a face value of cents. She forgot them until spring cleaning when a stamp dealer valued the collection at 42000 dollars, leaving Buetens startled.

George K. Page was elected executive vice president of First Federal Savings and Loan Assn of Sarasota succeeding T. R. Culler who retires due to ill health after nearly two decades with the firm. Culler will serve as a board consultant while Page, a 20 year savings and loan veteran, also directs the Baldwin County Savings and Loan Assn in Alabama.
