Man Loses Wheels From Semi on Sarasota Bayfront Drive
M F Smith of Bessemer Alabama driver for Allied Fence Co of Birmingham lost the rear tandem wheels of his unloaded semi trailer on US 41 Bayfront Drive near Gulfstream Avenue. A safety brake snapped the wheels free after a pin loosened in the trailer mechanism. The truck was moved to a repair shop with temporary welding.
