In Tallahassee the Senate approved a 32 to 5 vote on a 44 senator reapportionment compromise aimed at Highlands and Glades counties. The plan would set Okaloosa and Manatee as separate districts and delay the next reapportionment to 1971. Governor Collins signaled support if the House adopts a matching program and ensures small counties keep racing revenue.
