County approves $4 million budget with slight tax rate cut
Sarasota County commissioners approved a $4 million county budget for 1962 63 lowering the total tax rate to 25.86 mills a cut of 27 cents per $1 000 of non exempt property. The county operation rate stays near 10 mills and sheriff's budget faces the largest cut. Chamber of commerce publicity and promotion funds totaling up to $52 000 were approved by three of four commissioners after an all day hearing.
