U2 Pilot Powers Trial Set for August 17
Moscow reports the UPI story that Francis Gary Powers the U2 pilot will face trial August 17 in an open session of the military college of the Soviet supreme court. Powers 31 of Albany Georgia was shot down May 1 near Sverdlovsk while alleged to be on a spy flight from Pakistan to Norway.

State Gets Site For New Prison
Florida has received the deed to 500 acres in Sumter County for a state prison. Penal director H. G. Cochran will select an architect within two or three weeks and plans to ask the Cabinet for 150000 in planning funds approved by the last Legislature. He did not specify start date or total cost, saying planning money will address these points.

Four Killed When Tampa Truck Crashes Family Car

A 62-year-old man, reportedly from Sarasota, was killed Sunday night in a car pedestrian crash on U S 40 in Fairmont City Illinois. The victim was identified as Paul Jas per Miller and was struck by a car driven by Margarette Ross 26 of St Louis.
