In Knoxville Tennessee the government withdrew charges against Zeila Nelson a 19 year old defendant awaiting a child in the Clinton riots trial involving John Kasper and 15 Anderson County residents. Prosecutors cited medical advice and sought dismissal of Nelsons charges.
The bulleted trunk murder of James F. Malloy, 53, a Philadelphia painter, was identified by fingerprints. Malloy, who came to New York three weeks earlier to seek work, was found shot and crammed into a trunk at a Railway Express platform.
