A 140 foot Portland owned luxury yacht was gutted by fire yesterday while anchored off Canton Island 2000 miles southwest of Hawaii. Mrs. William G. Cooney of Portland said she learned from her husband William 38 that all aboard including a poodle are safe. Cooney owns the yacht.
