Plane Crash Kills South Countians in Alaska
C Redfield Vose, Treasure Island resident and Key Nursery owner, and co pilot Ralph Hughes of Venice were among six killed when a twin engined Lockheed Electra crashed on takeoff at King Salmon Airport Bristol Bay near Anchorage Alaska. Survivors include Hughes wife and a 15 year old son. Vose held wide business interests. CAA identified additional victims including Mrs H B Friele Polly Evans Edward Coligny and Ralph Hughes. The plane reached about 500 feet before nosediving and burning during takeoff on a business trip to Alaska.
