Brothers fall off dam in state park tragedy
Two young brothers drowned after slipping from the Myakka River dam in Myakka River State Park Sunday around 5 p.m. The boys Robert Allred eight and Joel five were presumed dead after swift currents. Their sister Robinette Elaine eight was rescued by campers Nick Busey and wife from Pensacola who were fishing nearby.

Man in Fair Condition After Dock Dive Injury
Louis H. Baggett aged 26 of Worchester Drive suffered a broken neck while diving off the Osprey dock Saturday night. Officials said he hit a piling at about 6 30 p m and was taken by ambulance from the South Trail Fire Department to Sarasota Memorial Hospital where he remained in fair condition. Deputies Dick Curry and Don Craft reported the incident.
