Thieves with a cutting torch broke into the Sara sota Used Auto Parts on East 27th Street last night or early today. They ripped a large hole in a wall safe and escaped with about $400 in cash along with a power saw and tools. Cigarette vending and coke machines were also rifled. The incident was discovered this morning after 9 10 p m. Evidence showed a long entry and fire damage from the torch but no significant injuries reported.

Bombs Hit Black Churches and White Churchman in Montgomery
In Montgomery Alabama four Negro churches and the homes of two ministers one white and one Negro were bombed early today less than 12 hours after an integrated city bus was ambushed. No injuries were reported. Mayor Gayle halted bus service as a precaution and an emergency meeting was planned. Governor Folsom offered a $2000 reward for information leading to the bombers. The attacks targeted Rev Ralph Abernathy and Rev Robert Graetz, with Graetz’s home containing unexploded dynamite sticks later defused by police.

Convict Flees Prison Gang From Road Camp Near Murdock
A state wide man hunt was launched today for escaped convict James Elvin Dent charged with criminal assault on a Bradenton woman. Sarasota County sheriff said Dent fled from a road camp near Murdock in Charlotte County and may still be in prison clothes. Dent is five feet six inches, with blue eyes and a light build per Charlotte County description.
