Car Overturns After Festivity

Earl Neil Palmer an 18 year old Marine on holiday furlough from Venice died at 12 45 a.m. when his speeding 1957 Cadillac left State Road 780 near Longboat Key and rolled over. Police say it may be the state's first traffic death of the new year. He was pinned beneath the car and died at Manatee Veterans Memorial Hospital.
