A gale force storm moved from Dixie up the coast dumping heavy snow and causing power outages across New England. The system tracked through Florida and Virginia with tornadoes and damaging winds, leaving deaths, thousands without power, and schools closed.
Sarasota Mayor Herschel Haye and county officials denied a secret Friday meeting of the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority. They said they were at the airport office reviewing about 60 airport manager applications and that no official meeting occurred. The FAA letter about Prim’s gas sales at the airport was said to involve him and his attorney, not the proposed board reorganization.
In McLean Virginia residents Mrs. Leonard Fallin and Mrs. H Hatch Garrett Jr. dispute reports that the ODA seeks to purchase nearby land for security needs.
