Washington reports unarmed American trainer plane reportedly shot down by Communist anti aircraft over the truce zone yesterday. A State Department spokesman said the department is investigating but had no comment at this time.
A trainer took off from Kimpo Air Base near Seoul at 2 00 p m. The last radio report came about one hour later and ground observers saw the aircraft shot down by North Korean antiaircraft fire about 30 minutes afterward. An Air Force search found no trace of the plane or crew.
