No Courts Strain Marks Territorial Finance in New Mexico
A Sun analysis compares the 43rd fiscal year's budget to the 42nd, noting a seven mill levy yielding about $230,000 against $301,000 in appropriations. The 6.5 mill levy for next year would likely produce around $220,000, leaving an $80,000 gap, offset by auditor actions and potential legal tests over special taxes on bonds.
