Santa Fe Enacts Deadly Weapons Ordinance
The Santa Fe City Council passes Chapter VIII prohibiting carrying deadly weapons within city limits unless in lawful defense or under legal authority. Defines weapons to include guns, blades, slung shots, canes, sand-bags, and similar items capable of causing harm. Violations carry fines of five to fifty dollars and 10 to 60 days imprisonment, or both. Passed August 11, 1891, by Mayor Vo OT Pitston and Clerk J D Hucnns.
