Chief Arthur condemns strike violence and urges unity
Richmond Oct. 18 Chief Arthur said he would not regard the Chicago Burlington and Quincy strike as a failure except by the road. The brotherhood should purge dangerous elements and expand its numbers by doing so. He called it mortifying that any member participate in plots to destroy life and property. The brotherhood condemns all acts of lawlessness and will punish the guilty.
