Bur glars Take $970 Worth Of Firearms In Colburn Theft
An unknown burglar entered an unlocked Colburn home yesterday and stole eight firearms valued at about 970 dollars. The thief also damaged a gas tank padlock and stole gasoline, plus a batch of cookies from Myron Power's kitchen table.

Elk Hunting Tragedy Opens Season Near Kellogg
David Lee Brown 3 of Kingston was fatally shot about mid morning while elk hunting near Jordan Creek in the Coeur d Alene National Forest. Dale Lyman Morris of Coeur d Alene admitted firing the fatal shot from about 50 yards using a 308 rifle. Brown, an employee of Bunker Hill Mining Co, left a wife and three children.
