Fires Near Bonners Ferry Brought Under Control
Two forest fires near Bonners Ferry were controlled today as cool moist air and light winds aided crews from the Forest Service. The Canuck Creek fire covered about 1,300 acres northeast of the city and was contained at 10 a.m. Most damage was in logged areas with about 250 acres of timber burn. Trout Creek saw roughly two acres burned while crews mop up. Five retardant drops helped finish containment.
