Planners Act On Several Requests In Bonner County

Bonner County Planning and Zoning Commission approved recommendations to rezone Elliott Bay lakefront from recreation to restricted residential. The change covers shoreline 500 feet inland in Section 17 Range 1, with 48 landowners petitioning to curb future commercial development. Other actions included preliminary plats for Salis Souci Lake and River Lake Estates, plus a conditional use permit for Bottle Branch Ranch guest ranch. One 533 acre Sidney Smith Co. site on upper Pack River Road, offering 300 lots at 1950 to 2400 dollars, drew opposition over tax prospects. parcel details and drainage concerns were discussed as the panel tabled further study.

Nez Perce Receive $87,000 Headstart Grant

Washington funds from HEW totaling 87000 will support a one year Headstart program for the Nez Perce Tribe of Idaho. The grant funds pre schooling plus medical dental and social services for about 90 children on the reservation.

Continuance Granted In Talbot Case

Harvest Auction at Sandpoint High Saturday
