Water Hookup Lawsuits Taken Under Advisement By Prather
First District Judge Watt E. Prather took under advisement two lawsuits filed against the City of Sandpoint by Richard and Anita Molstead and John and Irene Cerney seeking permanent water hookups outside the city limits. The suits, joined for evidence purposes, request permanent hookups and general and punitive damages for alleged city actions blocking the hookups. The Molsteads and Cerneys are already connected to the city system, while a prior Mulch ruling held the city as a public utility obligated to serve outside residents for hookup charges.

Sixth and Latest Bad Checks Tied to Clark
Two more insufficient fund checks were turned over to Sandpoint police yesterday totaling six written Sept 4 to Sandpoint businesses by Richard R. Clark. The $240 Ross Rexall Drugs check and the $101.97 Ray Kincaid Jewelry check were found invalid, adding to four earlier reports. Police obtained a warrant for Clark, Moyie Springs, 35, as the total bad checks rose to $8,411.07, including a $6,952.50 pickup purchase.
