Insecticide Test Planned in Northern Idaho Forests

A week long test from September 17 to 21 will evaluate two insecticides Zectran and Malathion against the larch casebearer in twelve 60 unit plots across National Forest and State lands from Farragut State Park to Priest River Experimental Forest. Results will show short term control effectiveness and impact on natural enemies with plots examined next spring for next year’s protection. Cooperation comes from Idaho departments and multiple Forest Service stations.
