Clergy conference in Sandpoint includes Bishop Treinen and 15 priests
The Deanery Clergy Conference met in Sandpoint on October 17 with His Excellency Bishop Treinen and 15 priests. Pastors from Bonners Ferry Coeur d Alene Mullen Kellogg Wallace St Maries De Smet Priest River Post Falls and Sandpoint joined Fr John Donoghue to discuss parish councils. A panel led by Fr Albert Dulberg examined constitutions election and authority of council members with several observers. A luncheon followed and the session ended with benediction at 3 p.m. In Moscow two Soviet cosmonauts Beregovoi and Feoktistov left for New York to visit the U S and return Franks Borman’s visit to Moscow last July.

Four Injured In Weekend Auto Crashes
Gordon Peterson 29 in good condition at Bonner General Hospital after his pickup left Highway 95 north of Sandpoint at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, sailed 35 feet in air, ending in a Sand Creek mud bank. Passenger Loren McDulin 35 treated for minor injuries and released. Peterson cited for reckless driving. In a second crash, Patrick Day 22 and Larry Eakle 21 of Spokane injured when their foreign sedan left Highway 95 north of Westmond. transported to Spokane hospital after Bonner General treatment.

Idaho Power seeks 250 million expansion by 1975
Albert Carlsen testified to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission that Idaho Power must spend 250 million dollars before 1975 for facility expansion. The company seeks a rate increase and revised tariffs affecting most customers, plus new schedules for large contracts and several municipalities. The IPUC suspended increases until January 1, 1970 and denied a postponement request.
